Mirror Image (WIP)

 

They’ve been without food or water for days, while sharing still air with the occupants inside this devastated building. The tropical sun, which beat down on them during the day, simmered what’s left of dried blood, missing limps, and excrement. The roasted stench lingered at night, searing the already putrid air within the small confines where they laid trapped.  Yet, Claire hadn’t complained.

Six days ago, after the earthquake, Sam heard the dogs and rescuers calling in the distance. So he knew there were people searching for survivors, and they were coming, but will it be in time to save them.
