                                Phantom Song

It had been a long day and her whole body ached from crying. The ceremony was a beautiful reflection of his life filled with music.  But now their once lively home had become a deafening tomb.

The sound playing on the keyboard woke her from a restless slumber. The pitch was soft, the melody sweet, it’s one of her favorite songs. The mesmerizing music surrounded her in comfort while soothing her inner pain.   She felt the phantom of his arms holding her as the sound of his last composition filled the room, seeping into her soul, saving her from melancholy.

  1. Very tender and touching. (A very minor point, but it might be worth putting an extra gap in between the last line of the story an the line that starts ‘thank you’ because I carried on reading as if it was the story and it brought me up sharp!)
